Famous handwriting expert Beverly East says, “The manner in which a man fills a blank page is a reflection of how he perceives himself functioning in his environment.”
In other words, the space you occupy on a page corresponds to how you see your life. For example, the margins that we make on a page indicate the boundaries that we set for ourselves, how we look at ourselves, how considerate we are towards others and how connected or isolated we are from the world around us.
Because handwriting analysis is a vast subject, in this post I will restrict myself to just one aspect of handwriting: the left margin. Generally speaking, one of the things the left margin shows is the writer’s comfort level with the past. So, now you know the answer to the question I asked in the headline.
If you keep talking or thinking about your past most of the time, it is possible that there is some anomaly in your left margin. Ideally, the margin on your left side of the paper ought to be one inch. The extent of deviation or departure from the normal reveals the degree of discomfort you have with the past.
